Estadio Nacional de Brasília Mane Garrincha , popularly known as Mane Garrincha , is a football stadium and multi-purpose arena located in Brasília , in the Federal District . The stadium is part of the Ayrton Senna Sports Complex , which also includes the Arena BRB Nilson Nelson , the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet and other sports facilities.

Inaugurated in 1974 , the stadium had a capacity of 45,200 people. After the 2010-2013 renovation , initiated to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup , its capacity was increased to 72,788 people, making it the second largest stadium in Brazil and one of the largest in the Americas , behind the Maracanã (RJ). The stadium currently belongs to the Federal District Development Agency (Terracap) . Initially scheduled for December 31 , 2012 and later for April 21, 2013, the inauguration of the new stadium was on May 18, 2013.

Among the test events following its inauguration, the stadium hosted the final of the 2013 Brasiliense Championship on May 18 ( Brasiliense x Brasília ) and on May 26, 2013, Santos x Flamengo , valid for the 1st Round of the Brazilian Championship ( Brasileirão ). One of the arguments used for the reconstruction of the stadium was that Brasília did not have any suitable venue to host large events, which were then held in the central median of the Esplanada dos Ministérios or in the parking lot of the old stadium. The stadium was managed by Arena BSB from 2019 to 2026, and acquired the new name resulting from a naming rights agreement with Banco de Brasília . The agreement ended in 2026 after the Banco Master Scandal .
